Transform your GSG MP40 into a WWII reproduction
The story begins.........
My name is John Hagedorn. The MP40 has always been my favorite weapon of WWII and I looked forward to someday owning one. Since the price of original WWII weapons was not in my budget, I began searching for other options. In 2019, I came across a used GSG 9mm MP40 in a local gun store and decided to purchase it.
It just so happened that 2019 was the same year I started WWII reenacting. After seeing other MP40's in action, I decided that someday I would be carrying mine into battle, but there was a problem. Even tough the weapon resembled the original MP40, there were features that were clearly wrong.
The screws were torx head which did not exist during WWII, the charge handle was not even close to an original (not to mention it had a tendency to fly out while shooting), the safety was made of plastic, the front sight hood was something from the future, etc..... The list went on and on. Being a machinist, I knew that I could make parts that would make my GSG closer to the real thing.
I'm excited to give other GSG owners the opportunity to finally make their guns look like they should.
